Every page is numbered in the new PDF.
To add page numbers to a PDF, select the file, choose a format (1, 1 of 12, Page 1 or Page 1 of 12), a position such as bottom centre, a font size and the number to start from, then click Add page numbers. You can skip the first page if it is a cover.
Why number pages with PDFVerge
Four formats
Plain numbers, “1 of 12”, “Page 1” or “Page 1 of 12”.
Six positions
Top or bottom, left, centre or right.
Start where you need
Start counting from any number, useful when a document continues from another file.
Skip the cover
Leave the first page unnumbered for title pages and cover letters.
When to add page numbers
Page numbers make long documents easier to navigate, review and print: legal bundles, reports, theses, manuals and anything that will be discussed page by page in a meeting. Merged files in particular usually need renumbering, because each part started at 1.
Numbers are added in a small standard font near the page edge. If a page already has content in that corner, choose another position.
