TIFF to PDF
Convert scans, faxes and multi-page TIFF files into one PDF, page for page.
- Free
- No signup
- No watermark
- Works on any device
To convert TIFF to PDF, select one or more .tif or .tiff files and click Build PDF. Every page inside a multi-page TIFF becomes its own PDF page, at the size it was scanned. Black-and-white and grayscale pages are kept pixel for pixel, and you choose whether color pages stay lossless or become smaller JPEG.

Why convert TIFF to PDF with PDFVerge
Every page, not just the first
Multi-page TIFFs from scanners and fax machines come out with all their pages, in order.
Real page size
The resolution saved in the TIFF is used, so a letter scanned at 300 DPI becomes a letter-size PDF page.
Small files from scans
Black-and-white pages are stored as 1-bit images, so a 20-page fax stays a few hundred KB.
Most TIFF types
Reads uncompressed, LZW, Deflate, PackBits, CCITT Group 3 and Group 4 (fax) and JPEG-compressed TIFFs.
About TIFF files
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is what scanners, fax software, medical and legal archives and print workflows often produce. One .tif or .tiff file can hold many pages, and most browsers, phones and email apps can't preview it. PDF keeps the same pages but opens everywhere.
What happens to each page
Page in the TIFF | How it is stored in the PDF |
|---|---|
Black and white (text scans, faxes) | 1-bit, pixel for pixel: sharp and very small |
Grayscale | 8-bit gray, pixel for pixel |
Color | High-quality JPEG (default) or lossless, your choice |
Convert TIFF to PDF without a website
On a Mac, open the TIFF in Preview, which shows every page, and choose File, then Export as PDF. On Windows, open the TIFF, press Ctrl+P and choose Microsoft Print to PDF; check that every page is included before you print.
Limits
- Up to 100 megapixels per page.
- BigTIFF files (the over-4 GB variant) are not supported.
- Layered TIFFs from Photoshop are converted as their flattened image.
- Very large files depend on your device's memory, so a 300-page scan is best converted on a computer.
Need to send only some pages? Split the PDF afterwards. Combining scans with other documents? Merge PDF joins them.

TIFF to PDF questions
How do I convert a multi-page TIFF to PDF?
Select the TIFF and click Build PDF. Every page in the TIFF becomes a page in the PDF, in the same order, so a 12-page scan gives a 12-page PDF.
Can I combine several TIFF files into one PDF?
Yes. Add the files in the order you want and they are joined into one PDF, page after page.
Will the PDF be the same quality as my TIFF?
Black-and-white and grayscale pages are kept pixel for pixel. Color pages are stored as high-quality JPEG by default to keep the file small; choose Exact pixels (lossless) to keep them unchanged.
Why is my TIFF fax so small as a PDF?
Fax and text scans are black and white, so PDFVerge stores them as 1-bit images with lossless compression, often smaller than the original TIFF.
What is the difference between .tif and .tiff?
None. They are two spellings of the same file extension, and both are accepted.
Is TIFF to PDF free?
Yes. There is no signup and no watermark.
